At age 12 Martin began playing drums in a music school. Soon afterwards he got his own drumset and began playing blues tunes with musicians from his neighbourhood. When playing with the band he discovered the bass and immediately fell in love with the instrument. He began singing as well, playing in Bonanza until he turned 18. Later he became a member of La Raza (now Nekropolis) and later Ultramar (now Atlantes) reaching a creative peak. In 2001 he decided to part with the members of Ultramar in search of new musicals horizons, so he published a classified ad searching for musicians sharing his taste in music. MADS was desperately looking for a new bass player after Santiago Balestrini Robinson left for the USA, so he answered the ad. When the band met with Martin for a test rehearsal they instantly connected.
