Now THAT's the kind of alternative rock I like to hear! Mid-tempo songs with heavy guitars brings out the so-called "grunge years" back. I honestly can't say which song I like best because they're all good! Production quality is good too. Ever thought about coming to Montreal once? I'm anxious to see you guys live!
- Yves P., Montreal, Canada

Song Reviewed: "Blow You Off". Wow! GREAT band - definitely BIG time skills. Top notch production. Awesome drum work on this particular song. One of the best I've heard on MP3.com . Congratulations - keep up the good work.
- Russell Dahlgren

ARGENTINA ROCKS! Soundfreek have a heavy, tight, hard-rocking sound. The production is also great. Drummer, Ale, has his hands and feets FULL and does fantastic work. No copy-gatos, these guys just do it. My only suggestion is a little more FX - just my preference. The drums have some reverb and the vox get some treatment but I'd love some spacey stuff on guitars. Muy bien hecho!
- Robinhood

This band is tight and knows how to Rock! I'm hearing influences from a wide array of bands who have made their marks on this genre. Yet the original sound of this band tells you that they are not trying to sound like everything that came before them. The overall sound quality is good. Thumbs up!
- Kubical Xphere

The soundsthat come from Soundfreek are like no other. Great work, Love the guitar tones alone and the drums are great. Great band. RESPECT
- Mike

Very interesting and original music. this band must trascend, because the are looking for their own sound... Thumbs up and keep going... Aguante la buena musica... Primate
- Primate

Soundfreek delivers on top quality, intelligent music. A pleasure to listen to. True musicians - interesting and intelligent rhythms/guitars, great recording quality - and great voice. Worth a listen in my book
- Mark Schuster

Not my usual style of music except when I get a itch for something a little harder sounding. Very tight sound.I like the grungy guitar, not overly done and mixed well overall. A good comparison to sound garden but with their own unique flavor. ~ rock on!
- Michelle

Well considering i hate almost everyband that influenced these guys my review would be looking pretty bad but its not that way! They have excellent sounds...i like the older songs much more than the new ones...if you like pop music you'll like this stuff... but its way too simple for me.
- Kendal Zier

Now this band is tight! The guitars are in sync, music has substance, driving me to give them a 10!!!! Great music Soundfreek!
- Tingle

VERY well produced heavy modern rock band with a strong dose of melody. ---+--- Radio-ready for college and modern rock stations. That is, while it is not entirely original (the vox & guitar sounds like the typical post-grunge Weiland/Staley/Cobain set), it fits well in the Blink182 Green Day zone and is a damn good sound. ---+--- Soundfreek makes some seriously tight crunchy guitar, drums,& bass riff tunes with melodic rock vocals. These guys are solid players and writers. Nice work and best wishes to this band ---+--- -=peace+light=- lanceKC -=http://www.mp3.com/zygoteproductions
- Lance KC

Checked out "Last Minute Suprise". This is an excellent pop rock song. Easy to listen to without lacking some rock punch...a nice balance to have. I'll definetely come back to listen to more, this band should go far!
- Malcolm Kerec

good, solid rock sound. very pleasing to hear a band around with a grungier rock kind of sound. reminds me of soundgarden, almost, but stays original.
- Randall Carrier

"Inner Peace" - nice heavy intro. I like the singer's voice, it fits the music well and I like the effects and background (?) vocals. Interesting. I like the guitars a lot. Heavier than I would classify as alternative, but not metal either. Maybe a weird nu-metal hybrid. Wow... cool abrupt break, kinda came out of nowhere. Great production and mixing. Definitely rocking, keep up the good work, you guys could go somewhere.... if you want to review my band's music that'd be cool, whichever songs you feel like would be great.
- Bianca

Listened to Scarred Within The intro was great the out of tune piano could have used a little phase or flange to smear the sound a bit. The main body of the song was very balanced in the mix. The slow melodies from the guitar were dreamy and the mode changes really emphasised the song though the bell on the ride could have been toned down a bit. The vocals I loved. Good lyrics good execution good song.
- Jeff Thompson

"INNER PEACE" by SOUNDFREEK by Lord Bygon I'm not a fan of Grunge music, but this song grabbed my attention, these guys treated this rock tune in a smart and wise way: the guitar riff spreads itself through the song giving it a great strength, an original riff which can last for hours in the listener's ears (and this is a good sign!). I'd surely like to hear this song again played live, I'm sure that it would move me even more than this. If this band's referiments are Nirvana, well they learnt the lesson very well, it's that pure rock that maybe we miss a bit, in a time when everything seems to have to be electronic, electronic, electronic at any cost...I'll surey check Soundfreek's page out again and see how the rest of their stuff is like, I'm sure I'll find further interesting things.
- Lord Bygon

Alternative music with a hard edge -- at times grunge... very cool!!! Songs are very catchy & powerful. The melodies stick in my head... we will definitely see more good things from this band in the future. Keep it up!
- Icecake

Soundfreek plays some great stuff and the band has some definite skill when it comes to song writing. Inner Peace is the stand out track in my opinion and would highly recommend these guys into anyone into rock that has influences from the mid 90's.
- Caine

What a trip through many different styles of music. I hear alot of Tool in the vocals but there is a lot of originality as well. The 7:00 minute epic is an awesome tune I'm very sorry but I forgot the title of it. The melodic guitar at the start was very impressive and the journey that the song took was very unpredictable and it's design all the way to the build up was very hypnotic!! After the vocals kicked in the song became more of a Tool styled anthem but it was very awesome!!!
- David

listened to suck you dry, and i must say, you guys have got it together. definitely influenced by bands like soundgarden, and nirvana like the description implies, but has a unique flavor all its own. playing is tight and together, and the production takes no prisoners. im going back to listen to more. keep doing what youre doing, and never compromise.
- Randall of Cassiopia

You guys have some fairly tactless song titles, but your music's great! "Last Minute Surprise" has a very polished sound. You guys obviously get to jam a lot. Keep it up! Sounds great!!
- Hamish Davidson

"Suck you dry" has got some really nice drums, that is for sure. Nice production and some heavy guitars. This should be popular for any heavymetal fan. I´ve listen to the first three songs, I don´t think there is much Grunge in it, but it´s getting better for every song. "Blow you off" has got some great vocals with anice melody and again; some cool drumming!
- Per Skold

Good, solid rock band with a hard edge to them. Also, they did a great job with the recording! Keep up the good work.
- Dan J

These KIDZ are F*ckin Fantastic! I went back and listened to more and I really DIG it. Right on JAMS from the Argentina KIDDIES! CYA! PEACE!
- Big White Hiney

Just listened to "Taking Chances", reminds me a bit of INXS. Singer sounds a bit like Michael Hutchins, and the music has a RUSH vibe. (i'm sure they're not influenced by them...just a observation) Very cool tune...i see that they are young - i also see that they are good !!! Keep it up guys...
- Lee

These KIDS kick ASS! I remember checking them out like way before the "MyMp3Network" Ii was the cover on their first album on MP3.COM. Their NEW album is F*ckin K001! Better quality all around, I would say they have been playing and getting hooked up with a better recording. I suggest everyone LISTEN and REVIEW. I am listening to "Valium" "Marijuana" "Reborn Confidence" & "Dumpster." I like it all, especially the track "Reborn Confidence" it got me into more so than my FAV "Marijuana."
- Big White Hiney

Metal, hot and heavy. Not my style, but perhaps yours. Two of their songs "Inner Peace" and "Blow you off" sound like each so much I can't tell where one leaves off and the other starts. But "Taking Chances" is innovative and creative. This one could be a hit. Soundfreek is worth a listen if you're into metal. They got a hard driving sound that pushes the limits. Some nice drum licks here and there too. Check 'em out, but wear an army helmet!
- Lengo Pata-Pata

Hi Soundfreek,
Marijuana! Very great! I like this song very much,
i'm not kidding, it's one of the best i've heard
on mp3.com!!!
greetings
- Marc

Hey, you guys play some great music... I'm just wondering why you guys are still unsigned!!!
- Silentzone

I love you guys..you're band is awesome. I just wanted to tell you that. I think I've listened to "marijuana" about four times in a row now...maybe i should download some more songs. I think I'm gonna end up buying you guys' cd sometime. I'm working on getting a cd burnt by my band and as soon as I do it'll be on this site thing. I'll tell you if I ever get us up there because I'd like it if you listened to one of our songs and stuff. peace love and empathy,
- brandon o'brien

Soundfreek - This band has about a jillion songs posted. Like it says above, I don't have a fast enough download time to download more than two, but it's downloading now... "One Long Summer" Nice recording! It sound pretty awesome... one of the most convincing Green Day impressions I've ever heard (although without GD's drumming pyrotechnics) We actually wondered: is this a live drummer, or is it a drum machine? It has a MIDI type sound, but of course it's possible that's just the way it was recorded. Anyw ays, good song! It's got all the little things that make mainstream punk nice: a big, roaring guitar sound, a melody that anybody can sing (it's all within a P5) and a clear-cut structure. Anyone could learn this song in a few minutes, and I mean that in t he best possible way. You Ramones fans know what I mean! This was definitely expertly recorded; how much did you spend on this recording, out of curiosity? And what country are you from? Your lyrics have a vague Shonen Knife-ism to them... is English your first language? Again, I mean that in a good way. "Hide and Seek (Slut)" Although the title is promising, I can't make out the lyrics, so I don't know if this is actually a misogynist song (ain't nothin' wrong with that! You ever hear "Full Grown" by JSB X?) or just a pretty face. In any case, this one isn't as cool as "One Long Summer" but I guess that's why "One Long Summer" is the title track... although I think that this one would also make a good album name. Just kidding! It's got a guitar lick that I think was supposed to be "flaming" but is only smoldering. Mainly, this one is compromised by a weak snare sound and buried vocals... but I'm interested in the album anyways. \par It says that Soundfreek is from South America... this is a band worth checking out. The presentation is very professional and I'm impressed by the sound quality. Apparently these guys are the same age as The Fullerenes, and they are definitely making a lot of progress. I don't know if foreign punk is ever going to be a major force, but if you're Jonesing for some obscure but quality radio-oriented punk, Soundfreek is worth looking into.
- Clint, from the Fullerenes

- Hubert Pastrello

Your songs are like so cool! I loved them. Keep it up you guys kick arse!
- JC43

I just wanted to let you guys know that you are one of the best bands I have EVER heard. I can't believe that you're not major label yet. On my playlists you're 2nd only to Nirvana, but you have so much the same sound and quality of music that there really is no obvious barrier that makes them any better than you. Keep rockin' and making new music. I love it!!!
- Tony Johnson

I'm glad that you E-mailed all the way from Argentina [KILLER]...You can buy our CD through MP3.com within a week or so. Id like to get your CD too, I'll tell the guys, get back to me some time...
- Jake Ash from the mp3.com band INRI

Hey! Lamers! How about you create something original and not rip riffs/sequences from Nirvana? How lame.
- Yaright

Son la primera banda argentina que veo en una pagina de musica internacional. Estuvieron capos. Cuando tenga tiempo de bajarme los mp3 les mando otro mail. Sigan figurando asi.
- Julian

Hey I just wanted to say your band kicks ass you're probably the best one on the mp3 site, you remind me of my favorite band NIRVANA. Anyhow cool listening to ya, hope you get to making more cool songs.
- The Crimson King

Hi Soundfreek! I got two of your songs from MP3 and just wanted to let youknow that I think "Im So Fucking Tired Of You" is great!! You got a strong, but not too intense, chorus and a cool balance overall in the song. In fact, I liked it (much) more than "Marijuana", although most people apparently prefer that one, but that's just my opinion. Good luck.
- Per Eckefeldt, Irene

Hey what's up Soundfreek? (if the whole band reads this). I downloaded "I'm So Fucking Tired Of You" and it kicked ass, I recently covered this song at a party I went to with a friend, it was a one time thing, but people liked it, so i just wanted to say that the song kicks ass... If u are interested in hearing my friend and I play it... email me back... and i'll can try to record it and I have to teach it to my friend again... as well and figure out the chords again... so... seeya man
- Dave

That song really kicks ass, it is cool... Reminds me of this girl at my school that won't leave me the fuck alone... She is this ugly 300 pound chick... Ahhh!!!!! Shit that's nasty. So who is this writing now? Well... I just got into mp3.com... I guess i didn't look enough to see that they had a music section... but anyway, I think a lot of the better music is local, amateur or unsigned band, and so... catcha later man,
- Dave

- Joe from the mp3.com band Emote

Cool, brotha! Yeah I check out you guys stuff a while back and I think I emailed ya - but anyway you guy's stuff rocks! Good to see more instrumental bands (compared to computer/keys based) on mp3.com. And the fact that yall are SOUNDFREEK and we are SUPERFREAK. I do admit our name is a more blatant rip off and yours has more unique coolness to it but I have always considered myself a superfreak in the basic meaning of the word! Rock on!
- RoMer from the mp3.com band SUPERFREAK

Your band looks pretty cool.
- Matthew Panschar

Hey... What's up in Argentina... This is Jake Ash from INRI thanx for the emails. I've showed the guys some of your stuff we dig it and would also like A CD. I'll leave my personal address at the end. There's something really cool about the Internet other wise I would never be able to talk with you.
- Jake Ash from the mp3.com band INRI

I checked out your web page and it is a marvel at that, I had downloaded a few of your songs earlier off mp3.com and I thought that your music is quite good.
- Mark Lampard
